What if I have private student loans and not federal? Or some of both?

That's okay! We mostly work with Federal Loans, but we can at least point you in the right direction for Private as well. Just let us know and we'll see what we can do to help!

What if I don't qualify for consolidation or any Publicly offered repayment programs?

It's true that some people are already in the best spot possible with their repayment status, or that for some, consolidating loans isn't always what's in their best interest even if they're eligible to do so. In fact, depending on your current circumstances consolidation or switching plans could even negatively affect your repayment. That's why we take our time going through all of your options with you, even if it means we don't get to work with you.

What if I want to go back to school?

We're happy for you! Just give us a heads up so we can have a plan of attack in place before you graduate so you never have a worry.  Many people that wind up in default status never knew their deferred loans ever even came due.

What if my loans do need consolidated?

If you qualify for a repayment program that you'd like our help enrolling you into, we're happy to assist you with your consolidation paperwork as well at no cost. Just like most things that can be done on your own, sometimes it's safer to have someone experienced help you navigate the process and make sure things get approved as they should be. Again, some people may find that although they qualify for consolidation, it may not be the best option for them if they're already enrolled in a non-amortized repayment plan or have loans that could lose their benefits by including them a Direct Loan consolidation.  We can explain all the pros and cons and answer any questions you have before you make a decision to consolidate your loans.

Can I do this on my own?

Absolutely. The programs currently available for repayment assistance are offered publicly through the Department of Education (DOE). We are not affiliated with the DOE in any way, we just act on your behalf to assist you with program information and guidance, document processing, and preparation against removal of repayment program status'. We also hired a former Department of Education compliance employee on our team to make sure we are up to standard on our legislature and repayment process updates. People come to us because it can be confusing to understand which Servicer(s) they're with, which repayment programs they should be in, the pros and cons of  consolidation, the difference between each type of federal student loan, which repayment plan may help them qualify for a mortgage approval if near the homebuying process (each type of home loan has different guidelines on how student loan debt is treated with debt to income ratios), when to submit for annual re-certifications to avoid plan expiration/possible capitalized interest, and more. For instance, it was recently publicly noted that 57% of all income driven repayment plans are not annually renewed on time, causing potentially damaging effects to one's student loan balance, repayment term, and status. If you choose to allow us to work on your behalf, we are pleased to take the stress and tediousness of navigating the options and paperwork off of you while keeping you informed of any changes and updates along the way.
